On a small cul-de sac close to the heart of Dore village, this spacious home was built about 12 years ago in a traditional style but with an airy modern feel. Dore is largely considered to be the most desirable area of Sheffield, being right on the edge of the gorgeous Peak District and yet less than 5 miles to the centre of England's 5th largest city. The village has plenty of amenities - pubs, restaurant, coffee shops, post office, supermarket etc all within 5 minutes walk, and a good bus service into the city centre.
Sheffield itself is also well-served with public transport having a terrific tram system as well as easy rail links - 2 hours will get you to London, and you can get to Edinburgh from nearby Doncaster in 4 hours - so a great choice if you've travelled from the US, say, and want to see more of the UK while you're here. (Our friends in London are also interested in house-swapping so if you fancied a 2-centre break it's just possible that could be arranged).
Internally our home has 2 sitting rooms (so the kids can have some independence), and a large family kitchen / dining area with folding doors opening onto a large decked area and giving views over the beautiful garden. There's a separate utility room, a study with computer/wi-fi and a great loft room which houses a pool table as well a 50 ins TV, X-Box and an exercise bike if you're feeling energetic. The loft room also has twin beds to make a 5th bedroom if required, and a shower room.
There are 4 bedrooms on the first floor - the master with king-sized bed, tv and en-suite bath/shower room, 2 doubles and a 4th with a 4ft bed and en-suite shower room. The family bath/shower room is also on this floor.
In the double garage we also have a table tennis table and a treadmill. There is a large well stocked garden with a couple of ponds and a great gazebo with patio heaters where you can wile away a Summer evening.
