About our home

The Old Smithy is located in one of the most sought after villages in Oxfordshire, in a delightful elevated setting with wide-ranging views.

Originally constructed in the 1920's, The Old Smithy has in recent years been extended and updated to provide a spacious, detached family home offering a blend of traditional style complimented by modern day fixtures and fittings. The property enjoys beautiful views over its own mature gardens and grounds to distant parkland beyond.

Arranged over two floors the accommodation is well presented and comprises:
Ground floor - Entrance Hall, Sitting Room, Study, Dining Room, Conservatory, Day Room, Kitchen/Breakfast Room with Aga, Larder, Utility and Cloakroom.
First floor - Master Bedroom with En-Suite Bathroom and Walk-In Wardrobe, 4 Further Bedrooms and Family Bathroom.

Ou house comfortably sleeps 4 adults (two large double bedrooms), 1-2 children/teenagers in large bedroom 3, and 1 child/teenager in bedroom 4. Ideally we'd keep the smallest child's 5th bedroom for storage, but please chat with us about what you need.

The extensive mature private gardens total 1.25 acres, part lawn, part orchard. There is generous off road parking at the front of the house.

The dark honey-coloured, ironstone hill village of Shenington sits less than 2 miles from the Warwickshire border, 5 miles north-west of Banbury, and 15 miles south-east of Stratford-upon-Avon. Shenington, with its golden-brown cottages, boasts an attractive village green, a church dating from the 12th century, and pub ‘The Bell’ which is equally popular for its menu as its authentic village atmosphere.
