About our home
We've now arranged all of our swaps for most of 2023, but we are open to offers from Europe and the UK for the last week in October. We might be able to offer a points stay for 4 nights in late July also.
We are restricted to the UK school holidays and in practice we usually go away for a week at Easter, a couple of weeks in the summer and during October half-term week.
We don't charge a cleaning fee for point swaps and we have a cleaner.
We are a family with four children aged 8-15. Our home is a 4-bedroomed Victorian home in Shepherd's Bush, located 10 minutes (walk) away from both Central and Hammersmith & City/Circle tube lines. It’s a 13 min tube ride to Soho and one stop away from Holland Park. We're also minutes away from the A40 with super easy driving access to Central London and Oxford. All the joy of London is easily accessible and Shepherd's Bush also has an Oxford Tube bus stop for car free access to Oxford.
We live in quiet tree-lined street within a cosmopolitan part of town with lovely neighbourhood cafes, restaurants, markets, great local theatre and lively music venues. Europe's largest shopping centre is also a 10 minute walk away! We would recommend leaving the car at home, as parking is REALLY expensive in our street! You can pay to park in a nearby driveway, which will reduce the cost.
We have lots of toys for children, a large eat-in kitchen, a cozy sitting room, a music room with piano and a small garden on the ground floor. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which can sleep 7 comfortably, spread over two floors. There’s also a downstairs loo. We have a range of bikes and scooters we would be happy to share with you. We really enjoy our home and would love to share it with you!

“We had a fantastic time staying in Elizabeth's home. The house was warm and comfortable, with plenty of space for us all (5) and a nice bright kitchen with a big table, perfect for sharing meals and playing board-games. It was clean and tidy, and they left freshly baked scones with home-made jam and cream, to welcome us! We particularly appreciated having access to some new games and lots of interesting books, including a selection on London, that were laid out for us. We had been provided with a comprehensive information pack prior to arrival (which also helped us to create our own) and it proved most useful in choosing restaurants, places to visit and details about the local area and transport. We had lots of adventures in London and it was easy to get around by train, tube, bus and on-foot. Elizabeth and family took good care of our cat, house and garden. Elizabeth was a great host, with clear, prompt communication, friendly and positive throughout. I would recommend swapping with this kind family and staying in their lovely home. ”
“We had a great time in Elizabeth´s house, very comfortable house with a great garden and lots of space. Great communication with Elizabeth, who also very kindly set us up with some tickets to the Design museum that the children really enjoyed. Elizabeth also left toys available which was much appreciated. The location is very good, pretty much all of the London attractions within a bus ride. We would definately recommend. ”
“Elizabeth and her family made our stay very special. Right down to the friendly neighbours and lovely additional welcome gifts. An unforgettable stay in a really nice and tastefully decorated, well cared-for family home. Thanks so much for having us.”
“Had a great stay at Elizabeth's home in Shepherd's Bush. A lovely comfortable home. Easy to take a short uber/taxi or walk to the underground station. Would definitely stay again.”
“We had a fantastic stay in Elizabeth's home. It was perfectly located for getting to all the big sites and attractions in London. We enjoyed sampling the local cafes and bakeries and enjoying the bustle of the local community. We had an action packed trip planned and Elizabeth's home was a lovely peaceful retreat after a busy day. The house is very comfortable with a spacious kitchen dining space where we spent most of time. Our youngest children loved playing with the lego and our oldest was delighted to find a kindred spirit with a bookshelves full of interesting books. The house is very tidy and well organised with everything you need for a relaxing stay. We were welcomed with home baking and other treats which was very kind. Elizabeth was very approachable and provided us with a really useful guide to the house. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Elizabeth's home to anyone looking for a base from which to explore London.”
“We had a lovely family stay at Elizabeth's amazing home in London. Elizabeth is a fabulous host, and she helped organise visits and site seeing throughout our trip. Their home is wonderful, homely and beautifully equipped and it's in a perfect location for exploring London. We would recommend staying at this excellent family home with such a friendly and helpful host family Tracy, Chris, Harley & Sammy”
“We had a great trip to Elizabeth and Simon's house in Shepherd's Bush. The swap felt really easy and Elizabeth was very easy to communicate with. The house itself was in a great location for getting into Central London and had tonnes of local amenities to avail ourselves of. We were spoilt for choice in terms of food options practically right on our doorstep. The house is a typical London terrace and was plenty big enough for our stay; there being a decent sized kitchen diner to eat in and 4 bedrooms upstairs over 2 floors. The house was clean and very quiet at night - you would never know that the hustle and bustle of The Bush is just around the corner. Elizabeth and her family left us some nice treats to arrive to which was a lovely touch and some when we got home. They looked after our house very well and left it in immaculate condition to come home to. If you are looking for an easy hassle free swap to explore the sights of London then I highly recommend Elizabeth and Simon's home. Thank you both for a lovely swap. ”
“Elizabeth and family were such thoughtful and generous hosts. London being a very different place to live than we're used to I really appreciated all the useful information that Elizabeth provided as well as the house being warm, well equipped and beautiful. Staying with my children in Shepherds Bush for a week was a great adventure. We could easily access the trains and buses from various local stations and when we weren't enjoying the local parks, markets and lovely places to eat or cooking at the house we made various trips to Kew Gardens, The Natural History Museum, The Waterman's Theatre and more. We highly recommend Elizabeth's place and Shepherds Bush is a great and vibrant part of London to be based in. Fab swap!”
“Elizabeth's house is just perfect. Everything is there, and everything is tastefull. Just the right place to feel well. Not far from the center and as quiet as one can wish. The living-room/kitchen facing the garden is a very nice place to stay in, very light. We must say that Elizabeth is as perfect as her house, always worried about her guests, always helping for their stay to find the best solutions and giving time for them, even if she has 4 children to look after ! I definitely advise to go to her ! Especially if you have children who can respect and enjoy the nice toys that her children nicely let to play with.”
“Elizabeth and her family were perfect guests and left our house cleaner than they found it, as well as some lovely thank you gifts.”

Close to central London, Shepherd's Bush offers fantastic shopping and transport facilities. With its Overground and Underground stations, a spaghetti-like road network, its old-school street market and the behemoth Westfield shopping centre, the Bush is bustling all day and all night. The area’s biggest selling point is that it’s home to great music venues like the Shepherd's Bush Empire and Bush Hall, original theatre courtesy of the Bush Theatre, as well as plenty of bars and restaurants from all over the world.
