Welcome to the Garden House, a luxury house in the heart of the Mendip Hills. An area of outstanding natural beauty, yet with Bath, Bristol and Wells on its doorstep. The living room has an open fire and double doors that open onto the landscaped private walled garden. There is independent access and private parking.
French doors open onto the private walled garden where you can dine alfresco during the warmer months and a large disposable barbecue is provided. We supply home made jam, locally baked bread, cereals and everything else that you need for your first breakfast and if you order groceries online, these can be unpacked before your arrival. All rooms have flat screen TVs and the interior style has a contemporary yet homely feel to it with each room individually designed.
There is one twin bedded room, and three further bedrooms which can be made up as double beds, one with giant 7’ bed and 2 with king size 6’ beds, or if you prefer, as twin beds. The three bathrooms are finished with travertine marble tiles and have under floor heating making them cosy in winter and have huge fluffy bath towels and Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries supplied. The fully integrated kitchen has honed granite worktop, fridge/freezer, combi-microwave and another multi-function oven, washer/drier and dishwasher. Logs are provided and the fire is laid ready for you to light.
If you need to keep in touch with the office or look up details for planning an outing, there is broadband and a laptop for your use. Alternatively you can relax and curl up in front of the fire, or sunbathe with a good book and plug your ipod into the sound system which also plays CDs. There is also an in-house cinema with DVD library.
If you want to explore outside there is a 6 acre bluebell wood, with a cabin to picnic in beside a large pond, or borrow some bikes, go bird and badger watching, look for rare flowers or play football.
There are 2 village shops within 5 mins, Chewton Mendip and West Harptree (this also is a Post Office).
There is a Farmers Market every Wednesday in Wells, Saturday in Bath. 2 Tescos within 15 mins in Midsomer Norton and Wells.
A walk from your front door to Wells takes 3 hours cross-country, stopping at a pub on the way for lunch. A bus or taxi brings you back in 12 minutes. This is just one of a huge range of activities and attractions to enjoy locally.
Cheddar Gorge is nearby, for climbing and caving. Further activities include biking, visiting gardens and playing tennis at a local public court.
