Wallingford is a wonderful market town situated on the banks of the River Thames, situated between Reading (12 miles), Henley-on-Thames (11 miles) and Oxford...
Where is it?
Witney is a lovely market town, the gateway to the Cotswolds, a beautiful area of rolling hills located in South Central England. It benefits from a relaxed environment, great local shops (supermarkets, good butchers and a local Saturday market). There are a wealth of restaurants, including traditional English pubs, Indian, Italian, Thai, Chinese and a range of coffee shops.
We also have a cinema and two shopping centres, Woolgate and Marriotts Walk, with a number of high street favourites, such as Marks & Spencers, Next, H&M and Waitrose.
There are some great green spaces in Witney, including the Leys Park and Cogges Farm (where some of ‘Downton Abbey’ was filmed!). If you like traditional history and heritage, don’t miss out on the unique Witney Blanket Hall, featuring history exhibits from this ancient industry in a calm, welcoming setting.
If, like us, you don’t drive, there are very frequent public transport links. Distances are very convenient: Oxford city centre is only about 30 minutes away.
We’d be happy to share more details with you!
