“We had a loverly weekend staying in Quarry Hill Church in Strangford. The house is very spacious with 5 double bedrooms and a fabulous double height living area with a fire that made it really cosy in the evening. During the day, light streams through the church windows and it feels really fresh - even if it is raining outside. Great walks around the grounds of Castleward and Mount Stewart and the food in the Artisan Cookhouse restaurant in the village really made the weekend. Thanks for Marty for making us feel at home and providing a food welcome pack in the house. Fresh flowers were a nice touch! ”

About our home
***Sorry but not open to agreeing swaps at the moment, we have built up points and want to spend some of these before accepting more swaps. Will update as soon as this changes. Thanks.***
We have a slightly different way of using Lovehomeswap than perhaps the norm, but once you understand it then it will make it easier to arrange a swap. Our property operates primarily as holiday rental accommodation, our website is www.quarryhillchurch.com. For this reason we don't do swaps in high season (summer and holidays) except sometimes at the last moment. We are open to swaps at off peak times, especially mid week (Sun-Thurs). It is a great location to visit in the off peak season! If you are flexible on dates and /or you can work with short notice it is more likely to work out. As a lovehomeswap guest we will treat you exactly like any other guest at our certified 5* luxury accommodation. The property is professionally cleaned after every stay and we ask for a £200 fee to cover this, there are no other charges, all utilities are free, linen provided, many household items, logs, and a welcome pack on arrival.
We prefer points swaps but open to non-simutaneous swap if you have a kid friendly home. Please note we have a minimum stay of 3 nights.
Quarry Hill Church dates to 1845 and is a protected historic building. We rescued it from near ruin and recently completed a 3 year "labour of love" restoration and conversion into a spectacular and truly unique holiday accommodation. It features the highest quality finishes throughout, with a huge open plan double height kitchen, dining and living area. The design is a perfect blend of old and new. Ideal for extended family groups. Extremely well equipped, for example wine cooler, coffee machine, high speed internet, wireless speaker, smart Tvs in all bedrooms. Leafy garden set in lawn with BBQ area and seating. Sit back and listen to the birds calling from the shore! Located in Strangford, one of Ireland's most picturesque seaside villages with great shops, bars and restaurants a short walk away. Castleward (a.k.a GoT Winterfell) is next door. The Ferry linking us with Portaferry on the Ards Peninsula is an attraction in itself. One hour from Belfast, 2 hours from Dublin it is a perfect base for exploring Ireland.

“Marty and Melanie have created something wonderful with their restoration of this beautiful derelict church. Firstly, it's a wonderful place to stay. The bedrooms are all wonderfully comfortable and beautifully decorated. The main heart of the church is a super space to gather, cook, eat and talk; and it's lovely and warm! Secondly, the story behind the restoration is fascinating and the involvement of the local community is truly impressive. We read the book Marty and Melanie have created about the restoration from cover to cover and would have loved to have learned more. Strangford is a lovely village with good local restaurants and pubs and great little shops too. We spent a lot of time walking and exploring though it is close enough to Belfast and other attractions to visit for the day. Marty and Melanie proved to be lovely and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Thank you both for allowing us to experience the results of your restoration talents! ”
