About our home

Our beautiful large Edwardian family home has been lovingly styled and decorated for comfort, aesthetic pleasure and communal fun times! Charlottes work as an interior decorator means the house is filled with treasures from paintings, to seaferns, antique linens and bolsters. Sourced from around the world and many local markets and troves, each piece has a story and adds to the charming feel of the house. Dans love of cookery and design is archived in a library of books that will thrill any creatives or cooks.
We live in the buzzy leafy 7dials area full of boutiques, restaurants, and regency architecture, 15 minutes stroll to the sea, the hip North Laines shopping area, and surrounded by parks. We are 15 minutes on the bus from the green valleys of the South Downs and Devils Dyke.
When the sun is shining we have front and back gardens that capture the rays from day break until sunset. A Weber bbq, basketball and full size table tennis table to be enjoyed too. Charlotte is also a yoga teacher and you will find mats, bolsters, blocks and props for your practice.
Ours is a family home and you will find books, toys and bountiful games to entertain your smaller people.
It really is lovely here!

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in the trendy 7dials area of beautiful Brighton . 10 minutes walk from Brighton station and it’s high speed trains (50 mins) to London. 20 minutes from Gatwick airport.
The 7 Dials boasts a host of delights from boutique shops, restaurants, wine bars and pubs to cafes, delicatessens, florists, antique and vintage stores, barbers, hairdressers and a natural health centre. Whilst buzzy and creative there is a sense of calm and community with many families living here.
We are surrounded by parks where you can picnic, play tennis or table tennis and play in the fantastic children’s play areas.

We are a 15 minute walk to the beach and the pier to the East side and Hove lawns and the Brighton eye to the West. Our beach and promenade are used and loved all year round from a chilly Christmas Day dip to paddle boarding and having bbq suppers and watching the sunset in the summer. It really is an extension of our homes!

We are also a 15 minute walk away from the famous North Laines shopping area which are a shoppers dream, here you will find many independent shops selling incredible vintage clothing, flea markets, antique shops, fantastic eateries, theatres, galleries, museums, the Pavillion and independent cinema, plus loads more treasures for you to discover!

We are also only 15 minutes from the stunning beauty of the South Downs,, Devils Dyke and beautiful Lewes. All are accessible by car or by buses that stop minutes from our door. The South Downs way are a walkers dream and you can follow the very clearly marked paths.

A little further along the coast and you will find the delightful Saltdean lido, an outdoor pool that is heated of the sea to chilly! You can stroll down to Ovingdean beach at low tide with buckets and nets to investigate rock pool life and feel sand between your toes. Nearer town is the Marina which hosts a bevy of waterfront restaurants, bowling, cinema, a great Sunday market and of course all of the beautiful boats moored there.
If you like sea fishing they will take you out to catch makers for your supper or you can fish from the pebbles or off the ground all along the beach.

Cyclists are in heaven with beautiful scenic country or coastal routes a plenty . You can bring your own or we have ‘Boris’ style Brighton bikes that you can pick up and drop off from around the city. We have a point 5 mins from our door.

There are festivals throughout the year, highlights being The Brighton festival in May with its artists open houses many of which are hosted in our neighbourhood, and of course brilliant colourful Pride in August.

There is also an open air theatre in the park opposite our house which is a firm favourite when it’s not raining!

There really is something for everyone in this vibrant, inclusive , creative city we are proud to call home. Charlotte was born here and has all the local knowledge which she is delighted to share with guests. We hope you love it here as much as we do.
