“A beautiful and very spacious 2 bedroomed home which was very clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen has everything a cook would need and the garden even in winter was stunning. We loved the location which was an easy walk into the center of Edinburgh with the independent shops and small supermarkets of Stocksbridge another very easy walk away including great butchers and bakers Robyn was very easy to communicate with and arranged neighbours to show us into the house and drop off keys to at the end A truly wonderful exchange ”

About our home
Our ground and garden flat benefits from the wonderful high ceilings and traditional features found in Victorian flats built around 1880, with a new state-of-the-art kitchen recently completed, which leads directly into the 40sq ft dining/living room in the heart of the garden at ground level.
The entire house has benefited from extensive refurbishment since we moved here two years ago.
There is a garage to store bikes if you are keen to cycle, otherwise the centre of this beautiful city (Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile) is only 10 minutes walk or 2 bus stops away.
The points are currently set at 380 but during the high season when the Edinburgh Festival and Fringes are on this will be increased to 400 pts per night.

“Our Edinburgh swap was one of the most spectacular swaps we’ve had in 11 years of LHS membership. Robyn and Colin were fantastic hosts and their home is beautiful, very elegant, pristinely clean and offers a great location. Everything in the house is in immaculate condition. We fell in love with Edinburgh and in 4 days could barely enjoy the most important sights however at the end of every day all we wanted to do was go back to this exquisite home. We definitely will be back to Edinburgh and can only hope to be able to stay here again. Thank you for making a dream come true. ”
“This was an excellent points swap for us when we had a family gathering in Edinburgh for a wedding. The location is perfect, close to the centre but pleasantly quiet. The bus stops on the road outside and 4 stops take you along princes Street to the Scott Monument and the centre. Behind the apartment is the area of Stockbridge, lots of interesting places to eat, and shop. The apartment itself is stunning, the photos don’t do it justice., I could have sat in the beautiful light filled sitting room and gazed out into the garden all day long.. Robyn kindly let us stay despite her holiday arrangements changing.. Thanks again Robyn and Colin”
“Robyns home is beautiful! My daughter stayed with a friend for Xmas and found the home comfortable and inviting. Robyn was helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend a swap with Robyn.”
“What a wonderful Edinburgh apartment —spacious, spotlessly clean, elegantly furnished and beautifully decorated; the photos really don't do it justice. The light-filled garden room is so gorgeous, we didn't have cause to use the formal drawing room once. It opens onto a lovely garden with raised seating area that had us yearning for hotter weather during our short stay. The high-spec kitchen is well equipped and a delight to prepare meals in — though no need to lift a culinary finger as a 10-minute walk takes you to the buzz of Stockbridge with its cafes and restaurants, or right onto Princes Street. Private parking was an unexpected bonus. And the location was fantastic — an easy walk to Edinburgh's major cultural attractions. Thank you Robyn and Colin for hosting us so generously....we enjoyed every moment, and wold love to return!”
“This lovely Edinburgh apartment is extremely spacious and comfortable, with a wonderful light-filled garden extension. Although it is only a ten minute walk to the town centre, it is very quiet and tranquil. We enjoyed exploring on our bikes - along the Waters of Leith walkway to Leith (and Mimi's Bakery!) and to the seaside at Portobello. All the Edinburgh art galleries plus the Botanic Gardens are within walking distance, as well as the shops and cafes of Stockbridge. You couldn't hope to find a better base for exploring Edinburgh. ”
“A lovely big flat in an excellent location near city centre. We virtually lived on the garden level floor with a super king bedroom, modern shower room, a great kitchen and lovely garden lounge / dining area. On the next floor was a beautiful lounge, spacious bathroom and the hosts private bedroom. The second bedroom for guest use is up a few more stairs and is a spacious, light and airy double room. The garden had been newly planted and had the weather been kinder, it would have been great to sit outside. It would be hard to find a better location to stay. The flat was quiet yet so easy to get to the heart of the city or out to Leith and the coast. There is the added bonus of parking although it wouldn’t be wise to use a car to get around the city. Robyn and Colin were lovely hosts and did everything to make us feel us feel at home. A great home to return to after hectic sightseeing and a highly recommended exchange. ”
“Really lovely big flat in excellent location near city centre. Beautifully furnished , bathrooms kitchen great. Free safe parking on quiet lane. On bus route, bus stop very near. Could walk into town. Perfect place, perfect hosts. ”
“Robyn and her husband were a very lovely couple, interesting and interested, who cared for my home excellently, I would welcome them back at any time”
“Robyn and her family looked after our house really well and left it spotless and tidy. We communicated with each other very well, even though we were away hiking in the mountains and reception was poor. We would be happy to host them again.”
“Great guests”

Neighbourhood
We are located in the west end of Edinburgh, a ten minute walk from the centre of Edinburgh and five minutes by bus. The flat is very near Stockbridge, a buzzing area with a variety of local food shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. It won the Sunday Times 2016 accolade of best place to live in Scotland for its village feel and friendly locals. The Sunday Farmers Market is a great attraction where local produce is sold alongside food from around the world for an al fresco lunch.
