About our home

Built in the 17th century, our newly furnished, mid-century inspired home is surrounded by sweeping views overlooking the Derbyshire countryside. With bi-folding doors opening out onto the patio, you can enjoy our extensive garden with private uninterrupted views. Derbyshire winters are all about muddy walks, excellent local pubs and cosying up by the log fire with a glass of wine (or hot chocolate!). Just ten minutes drive from the market town of Ashbourne, we are fortunate to have a variety of restaurants, craft beer & gin bars, deli's, cafe's and independent shops on our doorstep.

We are 35 minutes drive from East Midlands airport, offering short flights into most popular European destinations. We are also 20 minutes from Derby train station whereby you can hop on a train to London in 90 minutes.

In the main house, we have two bedrooms both with super-king beds and ample wardrobe space, a family bathroom and shower-room both with toilets. There is also an office with a sofa-bed and doors that open to look out over the view.

Downstairs there is a large kitchen/ diner with an extendable table to seat 8 people comfortably. The kitchen has all the usual amenities including; a coffee machine, oven, induction hob, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, nutri-bullet blender. There is also a 2-seater sofa and a workstation with a 27-inch iMac for your use.

Walking from the kitchen through to the lounge, under the exposed beams you will find a 2-seater and a 3-seater sofa, log burner and 4K HD TV with sky channels, apple tv, netflix & amazon prime. We also have super-fast fibre-optic broadband (WiFi) throughout the house and a bluetooth sound system for your use.

From the lounge you walk through into the sun room which houses our baby grand piano, 3-seater sofa and armchair looking out over the garden. The sun room also has two sets of bi-folding doors which enable you to open up the room on warm days.

Entering the Annexe part of the house you will find a kitchen, lounge with log burner and upstairs a double bedroom with newly refurbished bathroom.

If you are looking to do something adventurous whilst you are in Derbyshire, we are 30 minutes drive from the UK's biggest theme park, Alton Towers and water park Splash Landings. We also have Carsington reservoir just 20 minutes away where you can book paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, hire bikes or simply walk around the 7 mile nature-loop. We are also 20 minutes from Derby city-centre where you will find more restaurants, bars and nightlife should you wish.
