Our home has been recently redecorated, combining modern comforts with numerous period features including exposed beams in every room and an old inglenook fireplace in the living. The main bedroom has many exposed beams and also has an en-suite bathroom. Both upstairs spare rooms also have beamed walls and original floorboards.
The living room is joined to the dining room giving a spacious open plan feel. The dining room then opens onto the garden through French doors - the garden itself is enlcosed with mature plants including a Bramley apple tree which is over 100 years old. There is also a utility room downstairs and a study/4th bedroom with WiFi internet.
The home has been furnished with stylish furniture and is well equipped including large plasma TV, washing machine, and dishwasher. Outside the French doors there is a dining area with barbeque. Linen and towels are provided.
The property itself is a mix of old and new, giving a sense of history without losing any home comforts. The exterior of the house is painted in Suffolk pink and benefits from double glazing, which gives no clues to the history of the house seen on the inside.
The location is fantastic, being walking distance to the river Stour, Sudbury meadows and the town centre. A 5 minute drive will take you to the historic market village of Long Melford, and another 5 minutes you will find the most preserved village in England, Lavenham, a 'must visit' for all tourists in the area. Within 10 minutes are villages such as Kersey, Nayland, Bures and many other 'sleepy Suffolk' villages. Only 40 minutes from Stansted airport, and 2 minutes from Sudbury train station for a 1h15m train ride to London.
