About our home

We have a comfortable four bedroom house in the middle of an English village. It was built about 1900 There is a good sized conservative attached to the kitchen (which is newish but in an old style) All in all it is a very nice house. If you are a multi-millionaire it may seem small. If you have no money then you may think it large. We live there with three children and everybody can be in a different room and not hear each other so you will probably manage just fine. There is a reasonable sized garden for pottering about in and it is a very peaceful environment. If you like to sew there is even a small sewing room!

The good points about living in Bulmer are that it is a pretty village with polite neighbours. There is never any crime or trouble and you can go for several lovely walks by simply walking out the door. You do need a car because the nearest shop is a mile away and Sudbury, which is a small market town is about two miles away. You can get everything you need there and it is a nice place to wander around. Bury St. Edmunds, which is a bigger,Cathedral town is half an hour's drive. Cambridge with all its colleges takes an 50 minutes. The best way to get to London is by train. It takes about an hour and a half depending on connections. You can easily go, see the sites and come back in a day. If you fancy the sea then it takes about an hour to get to Aldborough or Southwold- both of which are beautiful up-market seaside resorts.

I am a headteacher of a primary school, my wife runs a book shop. We have three children, a boy who has just gone to university and two girls (16 and 13). My wife likes to garden and quilt. I like to read and play golf but I am a very poor golfer. (unfortuately I am not being falsly modest). Sometimes I go to watch Ipswich Town football team but they aren't very good either. We have lots and lots of books in our house so if you can read English then you don't need to bring your own! I also love walking in the Lake district especially.
