About our home

AVAILABLE EARLY MAY BANK HOLIDAY 2021!!!

Our family home is in the heart of Sway, a lovely traditional New Forest village, walking distance to the open New Forest (and close to the beach). It has four bedrooms - large master bedroom, a small guest bedroom with double bed, and two good sized children's bedrooms (our son is 9 and our daughter is 5 and their bedrooms are well kitted out for them with toys, books, and plenty of space for playing - our son's bedroom has a double bed in, and daughters has a single bed).

Downstairs we have a lovely open plan family/dining room which is open to the kitchen, with door out on to the garden. There is a large dining table with plenty of space for the whole family, and lots of children's toys and books. The sitting room is spacious and comfortable, with a gorgeous log burning stove for those cosy winter evenings, and patio doors out to the garden in the summer time. (The television has Sky, Netflix and Amazon TV).

The garden has recently been landscaped and has direct access on to enclosed village parkland which is lovely for the children to play on. There is a large table to seat 8 outside, a bench for the morning sun which is perfect to enjoy your morning coffee on, and a seating area which gets the afternoon and evening sun. There is also a lovely outdoor kitchen complete with pizza oven, gas bbq and charcoal bbq. We love eating outside in the summer and enjoying a glass of wine in the last sunny spot of the evening.

The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac, a few minutes walk from the village centre. Sway village is a really lovely traditional New Forest village. It has two lovely pubs, a small hotel with more formal restaurant, coffee shop, village shops (including grocery store, florist, pharmacy, post office and a Co-op which is new and super helpful!), and a small main-line railway station which allows easy access to London (2 hrs), Bournemouth, historical town of Christchurch, and surrounding New Forest villages (Brockenhurst, Lymington, Ashurst etc etc).

The open New Forest is a 10 minute walk out of the village and is absolutely beautiful. Perfect for walks, picnics, bike rides, children playing, just generally enjoying the great outdoors. Take the dog for a walk or just take a stroll amongst the ponies, cattle and at certain times of year the pigs too!

The Georgian market town of Lymington, renowned for its river, marinas, yacht clubs and High Street, is within an easy 4 mile drive over the forest:
Fabulous high street - M&S Food, Costa Coffee, White Stuff, Fat Face to name but a few. Restaurants - from Pizza Express to the very individual Seafood at Stanwells - http://www.lymington.org/restaurants.html
Pubs - whether you want a sea view, a play park for children or a forest pub, all can be found. http://lymington.org/pubs.html

Christchurch, the historic market town, is about a 15 minute drive. With its 11th century priory and nestled on the banks of the Avon and Stour Christchurch has been a busy bustling place since the 7th century. Today 1.5 million tourists visit each year to enjoy its many historical buildings and the river with its ferries to/from Mudeford Spit.

Pubs, bars and restaurant are dotted throughout the town serving good food and ales - https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurants-g190800-Christchurch_Dorset_England.html

Mudeford Spit worth a visit for views of the Needles, a great restaurant and beach.

There are a number of beautiful beaches close by, some pebbles and some sand. The closest are Barton-on-Sea and Milford-on-Sea which are less than 15 minutes by car

We have two friendly cats who are fairly self-sufficient and come and go through the cat flap. They just need feeding and would love a few cuddles! Happy to consider a car swap.

Please get in touch if you're interested in coming to stay in our lovely family home.
