Come and explore the beautiful Scottish Highlands from our 18th Century home in the Royal Burgh of Tain, one of the oldest Burgh's in Scotland.
The house is a traditional stone house with plenty of character. It is located in the centre of Tain and has a large private garden. We have five bedrooms altogether, three of which have double beds. The other two single bedrooms have single beds with one room having a pull-out trundle bed. There are three bathrooms, one is an en-suite. We have a well stocked toy room with lots of books and toys for children of all ages. There is a living room with a log burner. We have a smart TV with Netflix and lots of DVDs. We recently fitted a new kitchen (2018). The kitchen has another log burner which keeps it very cosy in the winter. There is also a utility room with a washing machine and dryer. Finally, there is a conservatory which is lovely in the summer.
We have two adult bikes and three children's bikes. We also have a tag-a-long tandem attachment and a baby seat for the bike. You are more than welcome to use these if we haven't taken these on holiday. We have a very full garage with skateboards, rollerskates etc and, most importantly, boogie boards and wetsuits (our favourite way to spend the summer). There are also skis, snowboards and boots (our favourite way to spend the winter!).
Our garden is a lovely place to spend time in. There is a trampoline, tree swing, play-house and hammock. As well as lots of fruit for you to enjoy depending on the time of year.
We have one very friendly cat called Norris. He is very low maintenance and if you would like to look after him during your stay we would be very grateful! If not, we can make other arrangements.
Tain is a lovely little town with lots of beautiful buildings and interesting side streets to explore. It is is surrounded by beautiful, child-friendly beaches a short drive away. There are plenty of hills and woodlands to walk and cycle as well as a couple of nice little shops and cafes to visit. There is a golf course in Tain and it is a 12 minute drive to the Royal Dornoch Golf Course. There are plenty of surrounding villages with lots of character and historical interest. The nearest airport is in Inverness which is a 45 minute drive away.
