“Naomi and Dan are very friendly and easygoing exchangepartners. The communication was clear and they are helpfull. Their house is perfectly situated: if you want nature you walk out their door to the right, if you're in for some English cosiness turn to your left to visit some pubs and shops in the old town of Ulverston. The Lakes are just a bit further, easy to access by car but even accessible by bus. A walk among Morecomb Bay is within walkingdistance as well but we didn't have to walk while our hosts left us bikes for the whole family. A tidy and big house with a warm fire, what else do you need? Nothing.”

As a host (1)More about us
-
We are a family of five, myself, my partner Dan and our 3 children who are Rowan, 11 and twins Luca and Bel who are 5.
-
We are a creative and adventurous family who prefer a real cultural experience to the more commercial side of holidays. Dan works as a sound artist, musician and maker and I run a holiday let in the lakes and also work with willow sculpture, dance and play music.
-
We are a busy family and we like the kids to enjoy a free, loving and creative space. We will treat your home with care and respect.

Neighbourhood
Ulverston is a small vibrant market town in the centre of the Furness peninsula with old buildings and a labyrinth of cobbled streets. It is the start of the seventy mile Cumbrian Way created by the local Ramblers Association in the nineteen seventies. The Cumbria Way starts in Ulverston and the route goes through the Lake District before ending in Carlisle city centre. It’s a fantastic tour of a beautiful county, and a celebration of some amazing landscape.
Ulverston is known as the Festival Town and has a rich programme of events throughout the year. It is the birthplace of the original community lantern procession which began over 35 years ago, a tradition that is still going strong every September with over a thousand home made lanterns creating a river of light through the streets.
In Ulverston you will find traditional music, dance nights, live music in pubs, comedy, independent cinema, farmers markets and an exciting programme of festivals. These include Lantern Festival, Flag Fortnight, Dickensian Festival, Furness Traditions, Ulverston International Music Festival, Ulverston Buddhist Festival and Another Fine Fest. So do have a look to see what's on before you visit. If you would like any help with local information in relation to your stay we will be happy to help!
