About our home

This is our home since 1990. The front faces west with a private garden and sunset views.
We have a good sized quiet, secluded back garden, with views of the church. There is driveway parking for up to 4 cars, with possible use of spare car.
We have our work studio in a converted garage. There are 3 reception rooms downstairs, kitchen, utility/shower plus 2 WCs. There are 2 double and 2 single bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, plus sleeping gallery/loft room.
Thriplow is a very sought after village for being rural and quiet, famous for its Daffodil weekend, with an excellent pub, the Green Man, village shop and primary school. It is 8 miles from centre of Cambridge, (College Backs, walking along river, punting, shopping) 10 miles form Saffron Walden (picturesque, markets Tuesday and Saturday, Audley End historic house). It is excellent for cycling, walking, fishing and quick train access to London from Royston, 6 miles away, or Whittlesford, 3 miles away.
You can visit National Trust properties: Anglesey Abbey, Wimpole Hall are closest.
We have 2 chickens in a pen in the back garden and two young cats, which will need feeding.

More about us

  1. We love travel, art, design, gardens, films and music.

We love art, design, films and music, not to forget gardens and living things

  2. We have been a partnership WILSON MACGARRY Architects, since 1989

  3. Our home reflects our interests. The original cottage dates from 1790, but we have added modern extensions, to bring in more light and space and to make a garden room for informal living. We enjoy eating outdoors in summer and relaxing in front of the wood burning stove in winter. Lots of country walking around us and a spare car, if you need it, to get into Cambridge, 15 minutes away, or Saffron Walden, 25 minutes away. Good train service from Royston, 40 minutes to London Kings Cross.
We have a cat and two chickens.
