“A beautifully set-up cabin for a relaxing stay where the countryside meets the sea.”
“We had a wonderful time staying in the Captain's Cabin! It's the perfect location for family fun on the beach and in the local area, even in October. You can fall out of the door and onto the beach... Ann was very welcoming and showed us around, and kept in touch to make sure everything was ok while we were staying. A very thoughtful host. The beds and rooms are small - but it's a cabin so that's to be expected! Lots of fun, we would definitely go back.”
“Lovely hosts. Fabulous accommodation. Great location. Plenty of things to see & do.. Very comfortable. Would recommend, and would definitely consider a visit in the future. ”
“Lovely park home :)”
“The property was exactly as described on LHS. Communication with the owners was perfect and very accurate details were sent to ensure we were able to check in without any problems. My only criticism is that the two smaller bedrooms could be very hot in summer - they are extremely small and there is no through draft. The kitchen was well equipped and we loved sitting out in the little garden watching the ships come and go on the Solent. I do feel that the property could benefit from a professional cleaning service between rentals - I would have been happy to pay for such a service. Many thanks for allowing us to use your holiday home - we loved exploring all the attractions of Portsmouth and surrounds.”
“The Captain's Cabin is a luxury caravan in a lovely position, both beautifully clean and with everything that you could want. We had a very relaxed and comfortable stay and enjoyed leisurely breakfasts and suppers overlooking the Solent. There are beautiful walks directly from the door and it is easy to get to many picturesque Hampshire villages and towns. We also enjoyed the excellent restaurant 'the Nook' which is just a 25 minute walk away in the village of Hook. Ann and Frank were a pleasure to deal with and I would thoroughly recommend the Captain's cabin for a relaxing break.”
“Enjoyed our stay very much. Loved watching the ships sailing by. Nice and quiet with a private back garden. ”
“We had a wonderful time staying in Ann's house. Communication was easy and friendly and the location was perfect for us. We didn't spend a lot of time in the mobile home but it was as comfortable as any house, well equipped, warm during terrible weather and with a lot of privacy. Access to Solent Breezes seems difficult but you just get used to the bumpy road. It was all perfect! Thank you so much!”
“We had a great stay at this holiday home in a holiday park. It is very comfortable and very convenient to exploring the south of England. The holiday park has convenient facilities of a bar / restaurant and a pool. Thank you Frank & Ann for your hospitality.”
“We had a super stay at the Captain's Cabin.”
“We spent four weeks at the Captains Cabin, as our first grandchild was born in Portsmouth. We used the cabin as a base, so spent most days away. The cabin is very comfortable with every amenity required. It is situated in a holiday park that although full of stationary caravans, the Captains Cabin has privacy and overlooks fields with Spinnaker Tower and the Solent in the distance. Although the cabin has three bedrooms, a very small comment would be that the second and third bedroom would be perfect for children and not adults. This is a perfect holiday spot for a family of two adults and three children. The pool is a very helpful activity during summer for the children. All in all we had a wonderful time with our hosts Ann and Frank and their son Ian being very helpful indeed. Thank you to all.”
“Unfortunately our trip here was cut short due to a family problem so we are unable to do a full review. The best bit about the trip was meeting Anne and Frank when we arrived. They were such lovely friendly hospitable people who made us feel so welcome. The reason that we haven't given five stars for all the categories is that the mobile home is described as a holiday home. However the owners clearly live here with their son for at least some of the year. This gave the place a very lived in feel rather than a holiday feel with a lot of space taken up with their personal possessions. Thankyou Anne and Frank for making us feel so welcome.”
“Ann and Frank were really perfect hosts, very flexible to our late request to bring a friend along, and set up the caravan for us to have a really enjoyable week. The caravan is huge and gave us loads of room for us to relax and feel we all had our own space. At one stage we were 3 adults, 2 kids (6 & 3 yrs) and a dog, yet the large kitchen diner and lounge gave us plenty of room to relax when the weather was wet. When the sun shone the decking, garden and BBQ are well thought through in it's layout and we really appreciated the long lunches and the odd early evening glass of wine (or 2) while enjoying the views across open fields and out across the solent. The location of the caravan was perfect for us to enjoy long walks on the beach, the boys loved the simple things, looking for shells, paddling and throwing stones into the water, which for kids is perfect as the water is very shallow and safe. On the sunny days the onsite outdoor pool is perfect for the kids, and ok for us less hardy adults as it's heated! Then popping next door to the clubhouse and sitting on the terrace watching the sun go down and the boats go by was lovely, particularly as we could enjoy some peace while the boys were being entertained inside by the complimentary kids entertainers! Days out were limited for us and we just relaxed and enjoyed everything on our doorstep, however there is plenty to do for the more adventurous. We did venture out and enjoyed the hovercraft across to the Isle of Wight (Southsea to Ryde) which despite the rain was well worth a visit for the friendly locals and great coffee and food (really recommend Chocolate Apothecary which is a fantastic coffee shop well worth a visit for for purist coffee, chocolate and cake lovers!! And how could we forget poultons park and peppa pig world a fun day out for all the family and only 30mis drive away. This caravan is well worth a visit for a relaxed family holiday by the sea. Many thanks to Ann & Frank Simon, Emma, Louis (6) and Freddie (3)”
“We stayed here as a family with four kids under the age of 5 and they loved it. The kids played on some of the local beaches, we visited a National Trust property nearby, they loved the heated outdoor swimming pool and the toddler club AM coupled with the Loopy club in the evening were big hits. The walls are thin on such a building so it can be testing with really young children but that's our problem. It's very well maintained and is in a fabulous location with views out over the Solent to the Isle of Wight. We had a great time.”
