About our home

*STRICTLY NO SMOKING AND NO PARTIES*

Seaview is our second and much beloved home. A 2.5 hour drive from central London, it is our refuge from our busy city lives. We also use it as a holiday rental so it is unavailable for swaps during high season aka Easter and the months of July and August.

The house was refurbished a few years ago and benefits from:

1 x super king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a walk in wardrobe
2 x double bedrooms
1 x twin bedroom
Dedicated nursery with a changing table, cot and additional travel cot
Large dining table, seating 8-10 people
2 x reception rooms with cable TV
Outdoor seating area
Roof Terrace
Garden
Parking spaces for two cars (it is a struggle finding places to park during busy periods in Walberswick)
Fully fitted kitchen with electric and aga hobs and oven. Electric oven is not visible in photos.

PLEASE NOTE: Full house clean and laundry charge is £150. This can be less as long as guests agree not to enter or use empty bedrooms.

More about us

  1. We are Anna and James - a non-smoking married couple from London with no children or pets.

  2. James is a journalist, voiceover artist and an author of non-fiction books. Anna is a children's author and owns and manages her own art gallery.

  3. We are quiet people who love literature, the arts, travel, cooking and a good movie. We're also animal lovers and experienced dog owners.
Sadly James is quite allergic to cats (long haired are worse for him than short haired), but Anna has owned three and we are happy to look after any who live outdoors.

We have two properties available for swaps.

Neighbourhood

Walberswick, a small, secluded village on the East Anglian coast, famed for attracting the great and the good from the arts, media and film. See: https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2004/aug/29/film.filmnews

The beach has been voted as one of the top 10 British beaches by The Daily Telegraph, Conde Nast Traveller, Daily Mail and is a three minute walk away, as are numerous green and leafy paths to walk or cycle along.

Crabbing is enormously popular with families and Walberswick was the host of British Open Crabbing Championship from 1981 to 2010, which saw a peak in attendance in 2009 of 1252 entrants.

The neighbouring resort town of Southwold is 1.5 miles away by foot or by bicycle.

Three stunning Grade I listed medieval churches are within easy reach of the village: The Cathedral of the Marshes in Blythbugh, St Andrew’s in Walberswick and St Edmund’s in Southwold, which can be reached by taking one of the UK’s last remaining rowing boat ferries that has crossed the River Blyth to Southwold since 1236.

Buzzy restaurants
