About our home

The lookout is quite unique in that it is located on the side of a hill in small village near weymouth. The house is all about the views as it has a view of the countryside and the sea a couple of miles away. The design of the house is open plan and contemporary but not clinical as we have used natural products such as oiled oak, travertine and limestone with the aim of creating a warm, natural feel.
Most rooms including the master bedroom have great views, some with sliding doors onto balconies. Everything in the house is high spec with bose music throughout, plasma TVs , mood lighting, nespresso machine, wine fridge, ice machine, etc. etc.
The kitchen diner opens out onto a large decking area which includes a sunken hot tub, bose music system, barbeque, and teak furniture suitable for 12 people.
There is also parking for up to 10 cars.
In essence it is a great location both rural and coastal. Various beaches are within 10 minutes from the house from the secluded gem of Ringstead Bay to the victorian seaside attractions of weymouth itself or the expanse of Chesil Beach to the west. Weymouth harbour is a great place to wander around in the evening with crabbing on the quay for kids, good seafood restaurants and inland country pubs with local ales. The area is famous for it's award winning Jurrasic coastline and coastal path with Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove nearby.
If you fancy something even more active, the area is a sailing and boating mecca (home of the sailing element of the 2012 olympic games) plus it boasts the best sea fishing and windsurfing/kitesurfing in the UK For rolling Dorset countryside and local history , head 15 minutes north and you are in Thomas Hardy country with picturesque thatched villages, the Cerne Gaint and Dorchester , the county town of Dorset.
If travelling overseas, you may want to jump on the train to london (2.5hrs), or visit neaby counties of Devon or Cornwall, The New Forest or more sensibly just relax at The Lookout and enjoy everything Dorset has to offer!
