About our home

Our beautiful home dates to 1892 and features large rooms with high ceilings, but has been completely modernised to provide safe and extremely comfortable family accommodation. The house is nestled in 20 private acres of gorgeous countryside in a very small village (with traditional pub) within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is approached via electric gates and a long private drive. We are located in a rural, non public lane with neighbours on one side and a private stable yard on the other. Our home offers complete privacy, peace and quiet, woodland walks and many local sights of historic interest, all within a short commute of Central London. The local market towns are 5 to 10 minutes away by car and have a wealth of coffee shops, pubs, small boutiques and eateries. From the town, a regular fast train arrives in Central London in around 40 minutes.Buckingham Palace, Westminster, the West End, and all famous London sights await.
Downstairs, the house features an open plan oak and granite kitchen which leads onto a large breakfast dining room. The table here seats 6 but can comfortably seat 8. There are bi-fold doors which open onto a decked area with further seating and a BBQ area, and the open countryside. There is also a downstairs shower room, lounge with open fireplace and baby grand piano, fully fitted utility room, separate study and a kids playroom. The house is great for children and the playroom comes with all the essentials : Xbox, Wii, board games, garden toys and books. Outside, quad bikes, bikes , football nets and a trampoline are also available to use. Wifi throughout. Flat screen TVs available in most rooms, with satellite TV to 2 rooms. We have a separate annexe next to the house which is occupied by an au pair/ handyman. We also have 2 dogs who may be either in kennels at the time of the swap or kept securely away from the house. Upstairs, we have 5 large bedrooms, 2 of which are ensuite, and a shared family bathroom. A further shower room is downstairs. Most bedrooms overlook the beautiful countryside. Use our car to explore the local area or go further afield.
