“I’m such this would have been a 5 star rating Unfortunately our much anticipated swap had to be cancelled due to Covid 19. We were all disappointed but hope to fulfil our arrangements in the future. I’m sure this is one of many stories for you. ”
Margaret's reviewsAs a host (2)
“We had a wonderful time in Winchcombe. The home was extremely comfortable and it was a wonderful base for exploring The Cotswolds. A car is essential to get around the area. Colin & Margaret were welcoming, easy to communicate with & everything went smoothly. The garden is lovely & the squirrels and birds were great to observe. Winchcombe is a beautiful village close to Suddely Castle - an easy walk. We went bike riding in Cheltenham & along the canal from Bradford on Avon to Bath as well as visiting other villages. A highlight was a visit to Hidcote Garden. ”
Where is it?
We are in the heart of the Cotswolds, just a 40 min drive to Stratford upon Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare, with its wonderful theatres, and there are fast trains to London, Oxford - everywhere - from nearby Cheltenham Spa with its elegant Regency buildings and smart shops.
Close by are many stately homes and gardens which are open to the public. Sudeley Castle, final home to Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIIIs six wives, is a short walk away. It's a five minute stroll to shops, gastropubs and restaurants and we are surrounded by pretty countryside, for longer hikes , and picturesque villages.
Only one hour's drive to Birmingham airport, with flights to/ from Melbourne.
