About our home

A stone built cottage with character, part built in 1750, small (cottage sized) rooms but lots of them (10). A family home with all that you would need as a base for a UK holiday; wood burning stove and central heating; internet; satellite TV; a nice garden and patio for our famously warm and sunny summers; 3 double and 2 single bedrooms; one double set up with its own lounge/study & WC/shower; family dining and sitting rooms and a small study/office; a gravel drive with parking for 5 cars.

More about us

  1. We are Paul & Jane and have organised a first house exchange for the fall of 2010 in New Zealand and rather optimistically are wondering 'what next' for 2011. Offers for Canada and the USA would be of real interest. Dates are flexible.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are close to Brize Norton RAF air base and there is aircraft noise but the location and village are perfect (home for 25 years). A real community, good pubs and great local restaurants and world class really great restaurants not far away. The local towns of Witney, Bampton, Burford, Stow on the Wold, Bibury, Charlbury are a treat; Morris Dancers, village cricket, cream teas, great museums, historic country houses, English gardens ...... our home is on the edge of the Cotswolds, close to Oxford, Gloucester, Cirencester and Cheltenham. Really well placed for the M40 (to London); M4 to the West Country and the M5 to the North. Good bus routes from the village, trains from Oxford and Coaches 1 hour to London (& Heathrow). Stratford-upon-Avon is also 1 hour away.
