About our home

We have an attractive 4 bedroom house in the beautiful riverside village of Wivenhoe, 1 minute walk to the station with a direct rail link to London (rail journey is just over an hour).
The house has attractive views over the River Colne and nature reserve from the lounge and two of the bedrooms. London is easily accessible, but the house, being situated on a footpath which runs beside the river Colne, also opens many possibilities for walks and cycle rides to Colchester, Brightlingsea, and surrounding villages.

Wivenhoe has pubs, restaurants, a delicatessen, a cafe a bookshop and a supermarket close by. It is just five miles to the the historic town of Colchester famous for its Roman remains and medieval castle. There are very good transport links to Colchester from Wivenhoe.

We are around an hour's drive to Orford, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Walberswick on the Suffolk coast. We are within half an hour of Constable country including Flatford and Dedham as well as many other beautiful villages.

The University of Essex is within walking distance. Wivenhoe is a very peaceful village famous for artists and academics, it would make a great holiday for families or couples wishing to combine a rural and coastal location with all that London has to offer.
