About our home

Our much loved family home is a welcoming retreat in an interesting part of North Essex. Easily accessible by a direct train from London. Stansted, Southend and London City airports are around about an hour away. We are 15 minutes' from a beach, situated on a picturesque tidal estuary with fishing boats, river access and countryside two minutes walk from our front door.

Colchester and Frinton are accessible by train. Dedham and Constable country are an hours cycle ride away.

Neighbourhood

Wivenhoe is a vibrant community which benefits from its proximity to Essex University with its theatre, gallery and grounds. It's not a sprawling commercial centre but a place to unwind and take life at a slower pace. The summer is fun with something going on every weekend - regattas, fetes, open garden events. Nearby Colchester has all the shops you'd expect from a large town, with some good independent stores and restaurants. Other towns also have good events and the beaches at Frinton, Holland , Brightlingsea provide all day fun. Holland on Sea if the preffered beach - dogs are allowed, there's always water due and a cafe.
