About our home

Our 19th century cottage has been enjoyed by 4 generations of our family and friends.

It has a spacious open plan living and dining room area, with the kitchen, bathroom (including bath, shower and toilet), separate toilet, and study in an integrated 1960’s extension.

The heart of the living room is a wood burning stove, with two comfortable sofas. There is a large table for entertaining, as well as a smaller indoor dining table, and an outdoor table and barbeque area for when the weather allows.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms which comfortably sleep six adults and two children: two double bedrooms, one twin room, and a children’s bunk bed room with cot and toy chest.

Neighbourhood

Our isolated cottage is at the end of a rough track in the middle of stunning countryside, 3 miles from the rugged North Devon coastline, with its secluded surfing beaches and the National Trust coastal path.

In the immediate area is the village of Hartland with its artisan workshops and galleries, and nearby Quay and lighthouse. We are close to the fishing villages of Clovelly and Appledore, and there are many country pubs and tea rooms within short driving distance. There are local attractions perfect for children such as the Big Sheep and Milky Way theme parks.

We are also a twenty minute drive from Bude with its lively surfing community, small independent shops and eateries, leisure centre and surf schools. Further afield Port Isaac, Padstow, the Eden Project and the Tate at St Ives make ideal day trips.
