“What a pretty house! A big thank you to Mary for letting us stay in her much extended cottage. There’s an old bit which is cosy with small windows, and a big new extension with loads of glass which lets the lights pour in. It’s on the outskirts of Oxford and it took around 15 minutes to drive in to the centre. The house has everything you could need and we particularly loved the huge living/dining kitchen. We used that during the day and watched tv on an evening in the small snug lounge. This was a spacious comfortable house and perfect for a holiday near Oxford and the Cotswolds. Thanks again”

“We had a great home swap with Mary. On arrival we were welcomed with delicious home baked cake and brownies. The house felt instantly like home, beautifully decorated in an Ibiza meets UK style and the large fully equipped kitchen with patio is one bright and charming living space. There are many things to visit in the area. We especially liked Blenheim Palace! If you visit Oxford, it is only 15 min away by bus and the bus stop is in front of the house. With Mary’s extensive guest folder you won’t miss out on things! Thank you Mary for your hospitality and your flexibility during Covid time”
“Mary's place was amazing. Gorgeous house and garden and Mary was super responsive to all my questions and had great suggestions of things to do. Per Mary's recommendation, my dog and I ended up visiting the nearby town of Woodstock, went for a long walk on the canal to see the houseboats in Thrupp via to Annie's Tea House, and walked along the footpaths past the church in Yarnton for some fresh air and space. This was a much needed quiet and secluded getaway. My dog absolutely loved the house and garden and even sampled some of Mary's veggies! We loved having fresh produce from her garden and felt right at home! Highly recommended and hope to be able to stay again! The only thing of note is the cell service and internet can be a bit spotty. That being said, I was still able to work remotely while there!”
“Mary’s house was an absolute delight to stay at, perfect for exploring the Cotswolds and Oxford. To be greeted with a cake upon arrival was delightful and a highlight for the kids! Thank you Mary for your hospitality, we had a wonderful stay!”
“Perfection! Mary’s house Oozed family and warmth from the moment our car hit her driveway. She was there to help me out with the kids, her beds were comfortable, her kitchen and outside dining were a place to want to be. Not to mention the freshly baked cake and cookies!!! Mary had all the information we needed for transport, activities, and info for her home. The house was in a great spot. A short bus ride to oxford (bus stop at the front door) and a quick ride to an awesome palace! Which my daughters loved! Mary made sure our trip was perfect; from before we arrived, while we vacayed and once home! Thankyou. ”
Where is it?
Yarnton is a village 5 miles to the north of central Oxford and is on a regular bus route. The village is surrounded by countryside and has a good late opening shop/ garage which also has a post office and Subway outlet. Our cottage is an easy walk to the shop, church and manor house.. As well as being close to all that Oxford has to offer ( a bus goes from outside our cottage every half an hour), we are easy driving distance from The Cotswolds. Blenheim Palace, with it’s extensive park and gardens , is just three miles away.. Oxford Parkway Station is just a couple of miles away with regular trains to London Marylebone (approx 1hr 15 mins) .
