About our home

Our stunning rural property has recently been renovated and extended to provide comfortable family accommodation. There are five double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 ensuite), a large kitchen diner with Aga, two reception rooms, study and kids room (with X-box). The house is equipped with internet access via WiFi network and satellite TV. Ground floor rooms at the rear have stylish full height glazing overlooking the large garden and paddock, and doors open directly onto a patio area. The garden is bordered on one side by a stream and the house overlooks the village green. Our village benefits from a friendly, traditional English pub which is two minutes walk from the front door. The village is twenty minutes travelling time by car from the centre of York. The city of York has numerous attractions including York Minster (the largest gothic cathedral in Europe), its ancient Roman Walls that can be walked, mediaeval streets including The Shambles and Stonegate. Museums in York include The National Railway Museum, The Castle Museum, and The Yorvik Centre. Our village is well placed for visits to other attractions in North Yorkshire including Castle Howard, Rieveaulx Abbey, The North Yorkshire Moors National Park (with its steam railway), the Flamingo Land wildlife and theme Park and the Yorkshire Coast with its resorts of Scarborough and Filey. Attractions farther afield in Yorkshire include Fountains Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Armouries in Leeds, and the Bronte museum in Haworth. York is situated on the East Coast Railway Line and offers excellent rail transport links to London and Edinburgh (both of which can be reached in two hours).
