“We had a wonderful time at Maggie and Leon's home. The apartment is very comfortable and filled with lovely art. The apartment felt like a hotel, as Maggie and Leon left it spotless and with space for all our belongings - they even left us complimentary bottles of wine and souvenirs from DC for our children! From their apartment on the 21st floor, we enjoyed wonderful views of DC. The building has also two tennis courts which were easy to book. Being able to walk over the Key Bridge to Georgetown was a treat and we frequented the wonderful restaurants and ate Georgetown Cupcakes! The apartment is also very convenient to the metro and downtown DC. Additionally, the building has a parking space which made life much easier than where we live in NYC. Maggie and Leon took wonderful care of our home (and cats!) in NYC and we hope to exchange with them again in the future.”
Maggie's reviewsAs a host (8)
“This condo is beautiful and very comfortable, close to metro, shopping, and dining. Maggie was so helpful with local information and available whenever I had questions. I recommend this swap if you are planning a visit to Washington, D.C.”
“We had a wonderful exchange with Len and Maggie from Rosslyn/Washington DC. Their condo is quiet, has gorgeous views from the balcony, and we could not stop looking at their collection of amazing artwork. Their building is only about 3 blocks to the Metro and just a few stops away from the DC attractions such as the Smithsonian Museums, Washington Monument, etc. The exchange itself was very smooth with great communication throughout the entire process. We highly recommend a home exchange with Len and Maggie for anyone interested in making a trip to Washington DC.”
“We just completed our exchange and had a wonderful time. The apartment is very comfortable, well decorated with paintings by the home's owner and looks out over Rosslyn and DC with several memorials night-lit in the distance along the Potomac. It's located a short walk from the Rosslyn metro stop and walking distance from groceries, coffee shops, and a handful of restaurants. DC is just a metro-stop away and the city very accessible from here. We especially appreciated the print-out of information left for us about the apartment, the building, and things to do in the area. In addition, the owner was very accessible and we communicated frequently leading up to the trip by email. We felt confident in our connection and exchange and had a wonderful time. Would love to do again!”
“We had a wonderful exchange in May 2009. Perfect weather, easy access to the city, and a lovely condo. We would definitely do this exchange again and recommend it to anyone. We were originally hesitant about being in Virginia, but we didn't realize how easy it is to catch the subway. It was only a 5 minute walk from the subway, and then less than 10 minutes from the Mall. Very comfortable and welcoming condo. Thanks! Karen and Carole.”
“Our stay in Maggie's house was a wonderful experience, the location is very convenient, close to everything: metro station, buses, restaurants, super markets. You can also enjoy the gym, the pool and the tennis court.... moreover close to the beautiful Georgetown. I am very happy with this exchange. Thank you Maggie for all your kindness. Monica&Solène ”
“Maggie's place is in a huge condo complex with every possible amenity, including a swimming pool. My two friends had the lovely big master suite and I could not have been more comfy in the guest room with my own bath. Their place is filled with art and everywhere you turn there is something interesting to discover. Oh, and the balcony is a real plus. Location? You can walk to the Iwo Jima memorial and Arlington Cemetery. The Metro is an easy walk and within just a few stops you're in the heart of everything. Toward the end of our week there, we 3 old people were slowing down a bit and discovered that it's only a 10 minute cab ride across the Potomac to the west end of the Mall! From Rosslyn, VA, you are better situated to reach most DC sights than from many parts of the District, itself. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our exchange. Thank you, Maggie.”
“My wife, son, and I had a fantastic time touring all of the DC sights from this well positioned home. A few short blocks to a metro stop to anywhere in DC or the Circular to Georgetown. About 3-4 block walk to the Iwo Jima Memorial and a little further to Arlington Cemetery. A Safeway grocery was also just a couple of blocks away and a Starbucks less than 1 block. Also the DC bike rideshare station just 2 blocks away. The condo was spotless. Maggie and Leon went out of their way to make room in drawers and the closets for our clothes. We loved, loved, loved the balcony with comfy lounger and a table for four. A side view from the balcony offered a fantastic view of the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial...all the way to the Capitol building, not to mention the River which seemed to be near our doorstep. Maggie was a delight to correspond with prior to and during our swap and she even shipped me a couple of shirts I left behind in their closet. I would highly recommend a stay at Maggie and Leon's condo and I would love the opportunity to stay with them again!”
Where is it?
Rosslyn has many shops and restaurants, and is within walking distance to Georgetown, Arlington Cemetery, Iwo Jima memorial, or one stop on the Metro (subway) to DC. Located just 5 minutes from downtown, and 10 minutes from National Airport, we have the Metro Blue,Orange and Silver Line stop just three blocks away, which gives excellent and easy access to the White House, Mall, Smithsonian museums, Kennedy Center, Eastern Market, Washington Nationals baseball, etc. There is also a convenient bus service, where you can reach the city in minutes. Open air movies in the park in the summer, various markets and festivals held throughout the year, and the Marine Corps Marathon finish line are all on our doorstep. Capital Bikeshare bike stations are just a block away where you can rent bikes. Bus to New York (Vamoose Bus) stops here in Rosslyn if you want to travel. This is city living at its best! A car is not necessary here, but we can usually arrange free parking if you need it.
