About our home

Renovated historic house with a huge home theater in the basement, a great Internet connection, a lovely English garden, high end kitchen appliances for those who love to cook, and an international themed decorated house from our world travels. Big soaker bath tub to relax. Also includes a sunroom with lots of plants from Florida so even when it's chilly you can still feel like you are outside.

Four wheel drives cars included in the swap. Perfect for the local climate.

More about us

  1. We are cyclist and skiers. We don't like big cities.

  2. Our house is open in August for non-simultaneous swap

  3. We want to go somewhere warm between Nov-March for a few weeks.

Neighbourhood

Amazing location, right off the park which has a central river. (We kayak by walking across the street.) Two blocks from a downtown historic area with lots of restaurants, art galaries, breweries, and shops. About a 1/2 mile to the bus that takes you up to the mountain for skiing. 1/2 mile from Bend's new whitewater park and ice skating rink. The house is in the center of the historic district with terrific cycling paths that can get you anywhere you want to go.

Twenty six golf courses in are area. An hour to Smith Rock Park. Three hours from Portland. And about 1 1/2 hours to Crater Lake. Skiing is open until May 20th. (Spring skiing is awesome!) Whole area is famous for sports; golfing, mountain biking, fishing, cycling, hiking, kayaking, rafting, golf, skiing, nordic skiing, rock climbing, etc. If you like the outdoors, Bend is your town.

Weather is typically dry because this is a high desert. If you head west of us, you run into the mountains with lakes, waterfalls (we have two major waterfalls 20 minutes away), and endless trails. If you head east, you run into high desert with amazing old juniper trees. Endless outdoor options.

Because our town survives on tourism as a major industry we have loads of festivals, concerts, great restaurants, sports events, shopping and a nice museum.
