About our home

Beautiful old craftsman cottage. Built in the late 19th century, beautifully maintained, the home is an adorable bungalow.
There is a king size bed with a luxury handmade mattress and top quality cotton sheets: (http://www.aireloom.com/karpen-collection-sidestitch/) and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room. A beautiful deck overlooks a flowery and lush green garden.
I have several different coffee makers, an espresso machine, extensive cookware (I am a retired professional chef), an outdoor barbeque, Vitamix, and even a sous-vide immersion cooker. I have Bluetooth speakers (Alexa) in every room (except the bathroom) and ambient hue lighting in the dining and living room.
There are fruit trees (meyer lemon, fig, pear) and herbs on the balcony (rosemary, thyme, parsley, basil, lavender).
The cottage is a condo, and there is one unit above me. A single retired woman lives there and she is very quiet.
There is a guest cottage at the rear of the property where a handicapped man resides. He is very quiet and keeps to himself.
My home is on the first level, and there are 4 short steps up the deck to enter the house. There is a very good security system so you can feel completely safe at night. Our neighborhood is full of professionals who care about each other. The neighbors have an association and participate in neighbor watches.
The streets are lovely for walks, abounding with beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs. The university's grounds are amazing and are about a mile away. The subway (Bart) is a mile away. San Francisco is a 10-minute drive away and a 20 min Bart drive. Napa Valley and wine country are 1.5 hours away. Lake Tahoe is 3 hours drive.
The Bay area is famous for its produce, and the most praised produce spot in the area is the Berkeley Bowl. Daily they receive deliveries direct from farmers. The harvest is so abundant that they bag large quantities of delicious produce and fruit and sell each bag for 1$. The Berkeley bowl is less than a mile from my home.
Covid restrictions can be found easily online with updates. Currently, all parks are open (beaches too). Parking lots may be restricted. Masks must be worn if you are closer than a 2 car distance from any person other than your family.

  1. I am a philosophy student at Berkeley and my son is a law student at San francisco (GGU). We will be online schooling due to Covid until January at least and so want to take advantage of the opportunity to see the world!

  2. My home is a very cozy, well decorated cottage in Berkeley. Friendly and beautiful neighborhood. Lots to walk to. The university grounds less than a mile away. Bart (subway) also a mile away. Best grocery store in the world (Berkeley Bowl) less than a mile away. We are a 10 min drive to San Fran and a 20 min Bart trip.
