About our home

This is a lovely, comfortable house in a quiet and totally safe residential area in the small coastal village of Bolinas, surrounded by parks, and protected by a building moratorium since the early '70ies.
The house is has a fenced in landscaped garden and off the street parking .
The house has alarged living room with wood insert + electric heater and a futon that can open into a queen bed , one big bedroom
(a second small one will be closed), a well equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer, one bath with bathtub/shower unit. It has many windows and decks. Is located one block from the ocean, 10 min. walk to Agathe Beach. Just outside the door there are wooded areas and wildlife, and many trails to walk on.
Gardener provided and a cleaner can be arranged. I can offer use of a bicycle.
As public transport is very limited in this rural area, having a car is advised. Car swap can be arranged.
Bolinas is a unique village located in a spectacularly beautiful setting on a peninsula on the Northern California coast, 45 minutes North of San Francisco and the Golden Gate bridge. It is surrounded by a lagoon, beaches, hills and woods that are part of the Golden Gate Recreational Area , a system of parks extending from San Francisco to the Point Reyes National Seashore ( 5 min drive from the house) with hundred of miles of hiking trails, lakes and waterfalls, wildlife and great vistas.
In town you have access to tennis, beaches, surfing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, clam gathering, birds and tide pool watching, biking, horse-back riding. Being home to many artists this area offers a great variety of arts shows , concerts, festivals and performances, and all kind of cultural events. There is a restaurant, a bar with live music, a cafe , a museum, an art gallery, and a Community center where many classes, performances and special events take place.
Organic farms and all kind of fresh locally produced great foods are available.
Day trips to many interesting areas .
Also connected to the house there is a studio apt. available for non contemporary swaps or for rent . See other add.

Me: I grew up in Milano, Italy and I often visit there, but since many years I live in Bolinas. I live and often travel alone, but sometimes I invite one or two friends stay with me.
I love traveling, and also, love my home and garden. A creature of the edges, I like to be at the interface between land and water. Love clear calm warm sea where I can swim and snorkel. I have many interests including: Gardening, the environment and sustainable ways of living; different cultures, community, psychology, philosophy, health, nutrition, yoga. Also the arts : dance, drumming; singing. architecture, writing.
I am currently retired.
The summer of 2013 I am planning to be in Europe , mostly on the coast. So am looking for trades places on the Mediterrean coast in the summer.
Note : there is a TVwith many channels, but no cable is accessible in Bolinas
