About our home

We have 4 good sized bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, 2.5 bathrooms, study, basement, garden etc. We have all the expected creature comforts, such as dishwasher, washing machine, TV, stereo etc and also cable internet for computer internet access.

We have 5 bicycles which are available to exchange.

We have a medium sized garden with a hammock and other garden furniture -- great for cocktails as the sun goes down!

We are a scientist/entrepreneur and teacher couple in our fifties
We have three grown up kids who will not be travelling with us
We have exchanged 4 times before and think it is a great way to see the world

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Believe it or not, Cambridge has the dryest climate in Europe north of the Pyrenees and there is plenty to see and do in the summer. For instance, you can punt on the Cam, stroll through the Colleges, and take in a trip to London to the theatre in the evening. We are about 400 yards from the botanical gardens. There are lots of shops and restaurants in close walking or cycling distance. One really good point is that we are 3 minutes walk from the train station, which has excellent, non-stop services every half hour to London taking about 45-50 minutes, so it is very easy to get down to the West End to see a play, or to go to the South Bank to see some music, or even the opera.

Cambridge is an excellent place for cultural pursuits in the summer: we have a film festival, various classical music events in the Colleges, open air events etc. If you like folk music we have the world famous Cambridge Folk Festival at the end of July.
