About our home

Designed and built by a local photographer Samuel Hinckley in 1896, this 2-story charming Victorian home was made with taste and offers ample space-3600 square feet on two levels. It sits right in the center of Camden, NY, Queen Village of Oneida County. Central air makes it a comfortable home to come back to in the heat of summer. Outdoors paint is only 2 years old and the house offers 2 porches to relax. Hard wood floors cover most of the house, except 2 bedrooms. 10 feet high ceilings 1st floor offers large kitchen, 1 bathroom, dining room, living room, Florida room and TV room. 2nd floor offers 5 rooms and 1 bath. Nearby attractions include Oneida Lake (15 mn away) or Lake Ontario (1 hour away) and their fishing/boat trips, clean sand and/or gravel beaches; Plaisance through the Thousand Islands region (90 mn away), Adirondacks Mountains (60 mn) with their countless scenic high peaks and lakes to enjoy. Camden, New York is a quaint and dynamic village that offers summer concerts in the park from July to August-a delightful Americana experience with local bands and talents. Just a few restaurants in town, but if you really want to taste more specialties, you’ll make the short drive to Rome (20 mn) where possibilities and styles are numerous. Those of you who like gambling, playing golf or an exquisite culinary experience, a 30 minute ride brings you to Turning Stone Casino Resort, where games, tip-top restaurants, world-class musicians and golfing can be had year-round in a stunning array of displays. NewYork City is just 4 hours away-by jet from Syracuse (an hour away), train or car. To the adventurer and first timer in the US of America, our home can be a wonderful point de départ to a majestic and memorable trip across the USA. Our neighbors are very friendly families/owners that will love to make your acquaintance, if you choose to do so. They’ll be glad to share with you the many possibilities right at hand for a delightful stay in the heart of relaxing Central New York.
