Our home was built solely by the two of us and we spent six years of our lives designing and building our dream home. The deck spans the entire length of the house and overlooks a 360 degree view of the glorious Pacific ocean. The circular stairway starts with an indoor tropical garden and the living quarters are on the second floor as you are invited into the living room spacious kitchen and dining room.
There are two bedroom with their own baths. The master suite is on the second floor with separate master bath including walk-in glass block shower, his and her sinks and a jacuzzi tub. In addition, the office, laundry facilities, another full bath are on the second floor. When entering from the two car garage you'll be met with a "dumb waiter" elevator to cart your luggage and groceries up the stairs. First level has a media room equipped with high definition over head projector and stereo system as well as a bedroom with Queen bed and private bathroom. Relax and enjoy the hot tub under the stars after a day surfing or exploring the area.
There is a combination of hardwood floors, travertine and carpeting as well as sand stone tiles on the decks. Other amenities include visual security system, trash compactor, central vacuum, curved walls, soft water system, customized book shelves and cabinetry. The tropical gardens are plentiful with a private sitting garden and an abundance of flowers and color. Because of the location at the beach, no air conditioning is ever needed.
San Diego is 30 miles to the south and Los Angeles is 90 miles to the north and easily accessible via trains or freeway. We are not smokers and ask that you don't smoke in our home! No pets allowed because of allergies.

Active couple with no children but love an adventure biking and explore new cultures, food and wine! We've been swapping homes for over seven years and have really enjoyed the people that we've met around the world! We lived in Europe for over six years and now back in the US again.
We are happily retired and Jack worked in Public Works and Cheryl in Aerospace. Now that we have freedom to travel we are anxious to explore more of the world!

Quiet neighborhood in Cardiff-By-the-Sea offers nearby grocery stores, fine restaurants and plenty of white sandy beaches for strolling or surfing. The famous Swami's surfing point can be seen from the patio decks. Easy access to the freeway allows for 40 minute drive to San Diego or 90 minutes to Orange County and Los Angeles. The train station is within walking distance. LegoLand, San Diego Zoo and Disneyland are nearby as well as golfing at world famous Torrey Pines and other fabulous courses. Del Mar Horse Racing track is nearby.
Nearest airport would be San Diego Lindberg Field or local small airport in Carlsbad.
