About our home

My home is a reflection of me, of my travels and interests, brimming with books, music, art ...and sunshine. The living-room is two-storied and most rooms have cathedral ceilings. I have a master bedroom suite (queen size poster bed) with ensuite bathroom: vanity area, separate bath with jacuzzi tub and skylight . The guest room (queen-size bed) is my "blue room" as friends like to call it. I have a third bedroom with single bed and guest bathroom.
Downstairs, the double-storey sitting-room has a hardly-ever-used travertine fireplace. Off the entrance hall is a study/office , a half bath and laundry room which leads to the double car garage. Completing the picture is a dining-room, seating for four, combined with kitchen.
Outside, running the length of the dining-room and sitting room is a patio, with patio table and bistro set.
Steps from my two-storey condo is a resort-like pool area with large swimming-pool, hot-tub/jacuzzi and swaying palms. There are also four lighted tennis courts within the complex.

Neighbourhood

The neighbourhood is quiet and residential, high above the renowned La Costa Resort, with views of the Pacific and sunsets. The beach (sun, sea and surf) is a 10 minute drive away. Golf courses abound. If you prefer nature, we have a nearby lagoon walk with a wonderful Nature Reserve and myriad of birds... and the Torrey Pines State Reserve, one of my favourites (bring your camera!) If you prefer the desert, Borrego Springs/the Anzo Borrego Desert is a two hour drive inland. San Diego with it's many attractions (Zoo, Sea World, Balboa Park, Old Town, the Harbor, Coronado, Horton Plaza, Maritime Museum, in particular , the Midway...one of my favourites!) is a 30 minute drive away. Take a trip across the border to Tijuana and experience a different world. Los Angeles is within easy reach; Disneyland a 90 minute drive, the Queen Mary at Long Beach, the J.Paul Getty. Worth a visit, the Mission at San Juan Capistrano. In season (July thru' September), racing at Del Mar, "where the surf meets the turf". Deep-sea fishing another possibility. And strung out along the Pacific Coast Highway, all these wonderful little towns to explore. One of the best climates anywhere. Spring is a wonderful time of year for hiking/walking.
