About our home

This home has views from all rooms of the Gulf. The home is on the Island of Cedar Key build in 2003. It has two baths and a great room that overlooks the gulf from large windows which bring in the morning light. The view is to the Southeast from the great room and master bed room. The second bedroom doubles as a home office den with a sleeper couch which is great for two adults with windows facing west.

The Kitchen is very hip overlooking the great room and has a old florida cracker look which brings back old florida at it best. All natural hardwood floors and pine cabinets. Cabinets have deep shelves with lots of space for displaying items on top such as period pottery redware and a great presentation of pewter articles. Counter Tops are of Tile and a deep sink for the enjoyment of the cooking of catch of the day . All this opens up to a deck to sun yourself in private. The home is on stilts twenty feet of the ground with ample space below for storage and parking ones cars. The area below also has a garden and sitting area to enjoy out of sun card games or conversation. You can fly into the property with private airplane and taxi off the runway up to the home and leave your plane in the driveway. So enjoy Cedar Key and unplug from the business world and fish ,boat, swim, bike, hike in the NWR.

This is a paradise well worth the trip from anywhere.

The best thing about Cedar key is you can take a golfcart ride all over the Island like the island natives do. Go out and enjoy a coffee or good conversation with friendly folks true southern hospitality at the restaurants and art shops. We have two museums with island history and parks with a beach area and playground, volleyball , basketball area's also a two tennis courts at the School ground can be used. Golf is open to the public at the Chiefland Golf Club twenty miles outside of the Island on the mainland. Enjoy swimming at the many springs which offer snorkel or scuba which stay at 72 degrees all year. All the springs are within a short drive of the Island on the mainland. Visit Gainesville with the University of Florida and the natural history museum of florida only a hours drive. Take a day trip to Orlando for the Parks and shopping.

My partner name is Eileen and my name is Lawrence we are both enterprising and have a enviromental consciousness regarding the planet.

We are into preservation and conserving resources protecting nature here on the Island and elsewhere in the world. We both are of european background german very traditional in our lifestyle. I would say we are egalitarian folks with good moral compass to guide us both. Our obiligation to takecare of the home that we would stay in would be as we would like to see our home taken care of. That would be with a high quality of care and respect. Eileen speaks a little French and I understand some german. But my Mom Lori speaks german and spanish and she enjoys many a trip to europe with us when we travel out of the united states.
