Our home is a lovely, spanish-style villa with 4-bed, 3-bath, a great room, dining and living rooms and a super back garden with pool, bbq, patio, large grass area and a kids' playset. It is spacious, but very homey. The master has a king bed, tv, oversized tub and shower for 2. The other suite has a queen bed, bathroom en-suite with a shower and tv. There are two other children's rooms, one with a twin, one with bunk beds. These share another bathroom with a shower/bathtub. The great room has a large granite island in the kitchen area with barstools for gathering. Plus a large, comfy leather sofa in front of a big screen tv, dvd, satellite and stereo (that also plays outside). We have 3 dogs (2 bassetts and a chihuahua) that will be present while we will be gone. If it convenient for you, it would be great for you to scoop food into their bowls one in the evening. If not, we have great neighbors (that youu will meet!) that will do so - and will be around for any event/attration advice or any other help. We live in a very friendly lakeside community.
Our neighborhood, Pinelake, is in the city of Chandler - a suburb of Phoenix. There is a lake in the middle of the community, a park with large grassy areas plus playground for the kids and a walking/cycling path that can take you miles in either direction. There are many families, but also couples of varying ages and backgrounds. Everyone is very friendly and we often have community events. It quiet, but we are very close to freeways to drive to the Grand anyon (3 hours), Flagstaff (2 hours), Sedona (1 1/2 hours) or Tucson (1 1/2 hours). Plus there are golf course all over Arizona - the southend of our community borders the closest, Bear Creek, with several within a few mile radius. We are close to mountains for hiking and there are a variety of museums, zoos and other attractions. Downtown Chandler is very quaint with shops, restaurants and a mere 10 minutes away.
We are a family of four: my husband is a marketing business owner, I work part time in sales and our children are 6 and 7. We love to travel and last year did a 3-week stint in Costa Rica, where our children did fabulously especially since we stayed in 6 different places! We enjoy eating out and cooking in with friends, playing games, sports and generally having fun together. I am actually British, so have some knowledge of the geography, although having not lived there for 20 years, many things are new. We all speak English, but have "school" abilities in Spanish and French. We have not participated in a house swap yet, but hope to do our first this year as we have a lovely home to offer and appreciate the reciprocation. We enjoy life, but are very respectful of other people's privacy and property.
