About our home

Classic 1840's New England Farmhouse on 50 unspoiled acres in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. The house is a perfect place for family get-togethers. Fabulous in any season.Fall foliage, winter wonderland, gorgeous spring, or carefree summer.

Two master bedrooms with king-sized beds, and beautiful views, three smaller bedrooms, three bathrooms. Large cozy living room with a big stone fireplace, dining room can seat 8 to 10 people--more if you squeeze. The kitchen is newly renovated.

We also have a wonderful treehouse overlooking our beautiful brook, a small pond stocked with fish. We have several miles of marked trails around the woods, and through the meadows.

Neighbourhood

Buzzy restaurants
Gypsy Apple in Shelburne Falls can rival places you might seek out in Boston or New York.
Cool bars
For a bit of local color, try the local Mohawk Pub.
Cozy cafés
Berkshire Pizza and Cold River Cafe in town are both great. Also Nearby Shelburne Falls has several cozy cafes and coffee shops
Retail therapy
Avery's General Store in town is a must see. Lots of great little antique shops and local artist studios.
Bit of culture
Tanglewood, local Chamber Music festival, lots of local artists and galleries
Walks in the park
Enjoy open fields--stone walls, cows (with cow-bells) wild turkeys, coyotes, and even an occasional bear or two. Orchard with lots of apple and other fruit trees, blueberries, and chestnuts.
Spot of exercise
Hike miles of trails and old roads right from our front door or go to nearby Deerfield River, perfect for trout fishing, whitewater rafting, swimming. Winter snowshoe, ski (one mile from Berkshire East) or go sledding right in our front yard.
Day tripping
Williamstown--about half an hour away, Lenox and Great Barrington are a little further. Then there's Bennington, VT, or Brattleboro -- about an hour away.
