About our home

We have a lovely renovated old home in the city of Chicago. There is a train stop right around the corner that will take you downtown in 30 minutes. Our house has two bedrooms plus a separate single bed in the carpeted basement.
We have a small yard and garden and a deck with outdoor dining and a grill, plus a 3-season room in the back with TV, WiFi, dining table and fireplace.
We have satellite TV and a Wii system.

More about us

  1. I am a freelance writer and editor and my husband Gary is a film instructor at Columbia College and Second City. Our 22-year old son is a college student who loves international travel and speaks French and Mandarin. We have had two exchanges so far, both of them wonderful experience. We are very considerate of your neighbors and your home.

Neighbourhood

We are in a residential area that straddles two neighborhoods. On one side, the neighborhood is known as Ravenswood Manor, a very upscale area of single family homes. On the other side, is Albany Park, a very diverse area ethnically with several good Middle Eastern, Mexican and Thai restaurants within walking distance. There is also a good independent grocery about 3 blocks away, and much, more more a short train ride away.
We are also about a 20 minute walk from Lincoln Square, an area with many delicious restaurants, some bars and the Old Town School of Music, which has concerts regularly.
