About our home

Custom designed house on a ridge with a million dollar view of the Smokey Mountains. The main living area includes a master bedroom with queen size bed, bath, laundry, kitchen, dining, living area with cathedral ceiling; fireplace, and office. The loft includes two beds and a half bath. The open basement level is a separate apartment with bedroom, bath, kitchen, dining and living area. The the wrap-around deck has a covered picnic area.

Only 1/2 hour to Cherokee Indian Reservation and the Smokey Mountain National Park. 2 hours to Gatlinburg and Pidgeon Forge, Tennessee. Majestic mountain views on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy wading, tubing, trout fishing, and rafting in the mountain streams, and at the base of awesome waterfalls. Visit Biltmore House in Asheville, and the Cradle of American Forestry. Only 3 miles from Western Carolina University and the Mountain Heritage Museum, with activities open to the public. A perfect vacation for families. We call the house, "Peaceful Point."

My wife and I are retired teachers. We personally constructed this house in the summers before we retired. Many times the mountain house has served as the gathering place for family and friends. For the past two years, the husband has served as part-time minister of music for a church in Florida.
