About our home

Three bedroomed, spacious house (two small, terraced houses transformed into a large one) in centre of beautiful, historic Durham City - of Harry Potter fame (see first picture!), in old cobbled street (see second picture). Very near river and short walk along river bank from city centre and 10th century cathedral and castle (a World Heritage Site). Large patio garden and decked sun roof (see third picture).

More about us

Two adults and an 8 year old daughter. After a wonderful exchange in Boston last year, we are looking for an exchange in late July/August 2006.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Near train station, 15 minutes train ride from exciting city of Newcastle (with magnificent quayside and great variety of restaurants and activities) and one hour from another historic town, York. 20 minute car ride from spectacular coastline. County Durham, and neighbouring North Yorkshire and Northumberland, wonderful for walking. Lake District and Scotland not far beyond that!
