About our home

We finally purchased our dream home in July 2015. We had some remodeling done and broke down a wall opening up the living area and kitchen. It has all new Pergo flooring and all new furniture too! We had a whole new kitchen put in in just in time for Christmas 2015. Its gorgeous but I still don't cook. :) The windows allow lots of light which keep us from getting cabin fever in the winter. The bedrooms are huge and the master has its own bath. We spend a lot of time tending to our plants on the back deck in the summer and cozy up to the fire place in the winter. The back yard is fenced in for our Yorkie and frequently visiting grand children. The potato plants that line the driveway are 3 feet tall and beautiful. People pull over to ask what type of flower we are growing. The home is bright green and is shocking at first but it grows on you and we never need to give exact address to people. We just say they green one and they find it!

Where is it?

We are in the fastest up and coming neighborhood of Fairbanks. Two miles from the shopping centers, big box stores and restaurants. The Chena river that runs through town is just down the street. Fort Wainwright military base is less than 3 minutes away and we hear taps every evening. Beautiful. Even though we are in a residential area, we are able to (and do) ride our snow machines straight from our yard to all the trails around. The homes around us are kid and pet friendly and the ice cream truck comes through daily in the summer. Everyone is into gardening and outside activities. One of several ski slopes is approx. 10 minutes away. There are very few streetlights which makes it easy to see the Northern lights right from the back yard in the cooler/darker months. It is not uncommon to have moose in the neighborhood and they tend to help themselves to the gardens if you let them.
