About our home

Our home is four years old and is is located in an upscale neighborhood under ancient oaks. It is one story with a two car garage. There is a family room, eat in kitchen, sun room, dining room, study, three bedrooms and two baths. The master bath is equipped with a whirlpool tub. The spacious outdoor eating/sitting area(where smoking is permitted) is screened. The home is centrally heated and air conditioned and has all the amenities that make life comfortable.

I'm Bill my wife is Rose Mary we are active seniors with a variety of interests. They inclide golf, tennis, biking and travel. I'm a retired army officer. She is aretired psychiatric nurse. We have experienced nine successful and interesting exchanges.

Fernandina Beach is located on Amelia Island which still reigns as queen of unspoiled islands.
As long ago as 1896 Amelia Island was called âThe Queen of Summer Resortsâ in American Resorts magazine. It was said that 50,000 wealthy northerners traveled from New York on the Mallory Steamship Line to visit the area.

Luckily for Amelia Island tourists took a liking to the south of Florida and turned their attention away from what remains one of the countryâs unspoiled island paradises.

Amelia is the most beautiful of the barrier islands. It has pleasant mild weather most of the year. Located on the East Coast of Florida, approximately 20 minutes north of the Jacksonville airport, it is an ideal base for excursions to many of the Florida and Georgia attractions. Day trips will bring you to Cumberland Island National Seashore, St. Augustine, Disney, and The Space Center, Okafanokee Swamp National Park, Jekyl Island and many other interesting places.

The famous world class Mayo Clinic is only hours drive away.
