About our home

Our house is a beautiful 4 bedroom Victorian from 1893 with period details. The master bedroom has 5 windows facing the sunrise. The king size bed is surrounded by delicate flowered wallpaper. Our daughter’s room has a queen size 4-poster bed. There is a twin bed in our other daughter’s room and our son’s room has an elevated bed with a slide. The living room and dining room have the original moldings and a see-through fireplace connecting the rooms. There are front and back staircases. The children love to play “hide and seek” in our house. The kitchen is large and bright with skylights and a sunroom. The backyard has a colorful screened in porch with a gas grill. There is a swing a vegetable garden and a lawn to kick a ball around. The garage has bikes for everyone. The minivan and convertible are optional.

Juergen is a professional in the Investment Banking Industry in Manhattan. I am a Personal Trainer. We lived in and around Munich for 7 years. Our 3 children were born there. They’re all Muenchnerkindl. We decided to come back and settle in NY in 1999. Most of our free time has been spent renovating our house or on the soccer field with the kids. They are David, 11, Jenny, 9 and Tina 7. They are respectful and well behaved kids, aside from the occasional sibling rivalry.
Our home is clean, comfortable and informal. We live a healthy life style and don’t smoke. Life is good to us.

Where is it?

The location of the house provides an optimal combination for those who enjoy the city, but want to come home to peace and quiet. We are situated on the outskirts of New York City in a village with a small town feel, called Floral Park. Our visitors are often grateful after a tiring day of walking the city streets to come home and lay in the hammock. It is just a 2-minute walk to the train. In 35 minutes you are in the city, near the foot of the Empire State Building. Take a ride up 102 flights and enjoy the views. Visit a Broadway musical, Central Park, museums or Wall Street. Sit back at a café and people watch. Every nationality is here. Every type of cuisine is here for you to try. Dance the night away, or go to a jazz club. When you’ve had enough of the city, spend the day at the Beach only a short drive away. Jones Beach consists of miles of pristine beaches. There are quiet corners or bustling boardwalks. You can sun, surf, fish, or boogie board. If you like to hike or camp or just go antiquing, the Catskill Mountains are 1 hr away. Or, check out the Hamptons and live like Carrie in “Sex and the City”.
