Welcome to our home..."Barnhardt Hall". This home is a unique, circa 1904 property located in the Historic District of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. We are only 8 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee. We are also located adjacent to the entrance to Chickamauga National Military Park, the nation’s oldest and largest Civil War Battlefield. Our home is perfect for family vacations and sleeps 14 comfortably!
Barnhardt Hall is a fully restored 4,000 sq. ft. barrack which was originally home to the US Army Cavalry’s 28-piece band. Built in the Classic Renaissance Revival style, Barnhardt Hall and all the officer’s homes on Barnhardt Circle are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
My husband and I live in Barnhardt Hall during the winter months, but use this property as a vacation rental home the remaining months of the year.
This elegant home has three gas log fireplaces located in the formal living room, recreation room, and den. A full kitchen for cooking with all cutlery & dishes provided. Tastefully furnished throughout with laundry facilities, game table, and two TV/DVDs. You may visit our website at www.BarnhardtHall.com for photographs and availability calendar!
The Historic District of Fort Oglethorpe is very safe and residential. The Chickamauga Battlefield is within walking distance, as is the City's public pool and park. Shopping and entertainment is within 5 miles.
My husband and I have traveled around while my husband was in the Army. We are now, semi-retired and would enjoy sharing our home as an exchange for another interesting property.
