About our home

We live in a spacious four level home on the outskirts of Fort Wayne, a vibrant Midwestern city of 250,000 inhabitants. Our 2500 square foot home originally had three bedrooms, but when our last child moved away we enlarged our bedroom into the comfortable room that it is now. The master bedroom has a super king size bed with a Tempur-Pedic mattress, while the guest room features a very comfortable queen size bed. Our house features a well equipped kitchen, which serves Alan’s needs as an avid amateur chef. There is a living room and dining room on the main level, and a family room and Angie’s office on the first lower level. The lowest level houses Alan’s studio and workshop, and has a walk out entryway into the back yard. The home is situated on one heavily wooded acre, which is typical of the properties in our small (50 homes) neighborhood.

Fort Wayne is a wonderful community, providing a huge variety of things to experience while retaining a certain degree of small city charm and cohesiveness. The arts are very important to this city, with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic as the centerpiece of the arts scene. There is always live jazz and theater going on, as well as touring shows and exhibits. The Fort Wayne Zoo is rated as one of the top ten in the US, and is not to be missed. We are graced with an inordinate number of architecturally beautiful churches as well as the outstanding Allen County Courthouse, which is listed in the National Register of Historical Places. The Allen County Public Library is remarkable, and is recognized as one of the premier genealogy libraries in the world.

For the sports enthusiast, Fort Wayne is a delight. Home to three professional franchises: Komets hockey, Mad Ants basketball, and Tin Caps baseball as well as numerous college and amateur teams, Fort Wayne embraces a lively sports environment. For those who crave the lights of the big city, Chicago and Detroit are only a few hours drive, while our location on the edge of the city makes it possible to be in the country in a matter of minutes. Any exchange will include the use of our Toyota RAV4, which has an automatic transmission and is easy to drive.

We invite you to come and enjoy the best of Midwestern living here in Fort Wayne.
