Family home kept clean in quiet neighborhood; 3 bedrooms (one of them is for our preschooler), 2 full baths; two car garage; large front and backyard with a deck out back overlooking our herb and veggie garden (and son's swingset); we have a small white cat, but she is very sweet (she's 13 yrs. old and never bitten or hissed at another person) and hides with new people most of the time.
Home within walking distance to parks for hiking, canoeing, boating; grocery store, Starbucks, kid's playgrounds, pastry shop, video store; miles to the University of Florida where you can see the Nat'l Championship Gators play football or basketball, or simply tour the largest college in Florida wrought with beautiful old buildings and lots of fun, young college student people watching to do. Come by campus around 12 noon M-F and you can eat lunch with or simply watch the local, quite famous, Hari Krishnas serve a $4 vegetarian lunch to UF's students/faculty.
Also, springs that are a translucent blue and a constant 70 degree temp., a unique part of Florida, are close by and a wonderful way to barbeque and spend a day.
Lots of restaurants, sightseeing, movies, local and broadway theater available, live music almost every day of the week, art studios, yoga and gyms close by, art festivals in October, November, and February too.
Fresh local farmers' market within walking distance to our home every Sat. and also near downtown Gainesville every Wed. afternoon.
Neighborhood is with established homes, mostly older couples, but some young families with small children moving into the area; it is quiet and very pretty, with loads of oak, magnolia and pine trees littering the streets and backyards all over. Most homes have good size lots- our lot is around 1/2 an acre.
Neighborhood right across the street from a bus pickup- cheap to ride and goes everywhere.
We are a young family with a three year old son. We are looking to be able to vacation- anywhere really- with the added comforts of home, like a kitchen and some space, without the price of what that entails increasing our trip's cost.
