More about us

  1. In a nutshell: semi-retired clean responsible couple who love art, travel and adventure.
We have a powerboat and sailboat on a large recreational lake where we live in Minnesota, plus our future retirement home in Arizona (this listing). Gene did retail & restaurant design for most of his career, and house design more recently. Marilyn assisted Gene with his design business while raising our son, and more recently worked for a non-profit matching foreign exchange students with host families. Gene and Marilyn both have artistic/creative streaks and enjoy collecting sculpture and art. We have one adult son, recently out of college, who is starting his artistic career as a glassblower in Honolulu.
We're now taking a break to do more traveling adventures in other parts of our country & the world.
Our hobbies and interests include hiking, motorcycling, power boating and sailing, camping, skiing and gardening and of course traveling. We've traveled all over the US and have been to Europe and South America a few times. We enjoy regional and cross country trips with our Corvette or Goldwing, and camping with our vintage Airstream trailer.
We have personally hosted several foreign exchange students of our own, and befriended many others over the years. We enjoy our connections with people around the globe.
