Our home is located on the banks of the Pilchuck River, a small river which flows out of nearby Mt. Pilchuck, into Puget Sound, about forty-five miles north of Seattle, in Washington State. We are in an area where it is quiet, with the nearest small town two miles away. Surrounded by trees, we have only one neighbor on this side of the river and one on the opposite side. The house is a two-story home with two bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room, utility room, and three bedrooms. A small creek flows past the house on one side, and the river flows by the front of the home.
We live in a quiet neighborhood, two miles away from the small town of Granite Falls. We are situated near the foothills of the Cascade Mt.s, where there are ski areas, and many pristine lakes to hike to. We especially enjoy the fact that our neighborhood is out of town, in the country, and on the river, where it is quiet and peaceful, yet when we get the urge for some city activity, Seattle is only a 45-minute drive away and Vancouver, Canada is a two-hour drive.
We are a newly-retired couple. I taught high school-level physics and chemistry, and my wife was a full-time homemaker. My wife is a semi-professional photographer. I speak a moderate amount of German and Spanish, and am now trying to learn Russian.
