Green Mountain Falls is located within 2 hrs. of major ski areas. The house itself has a large open living room with sky lights which make it light and airy and has a fireplace. There are lots of windows to view the Rocky Mountains, surrounding forest and wildlife. It has pine floors, beautiful pine paneling, carpeting in both bedrooms. The one bathroom has a shower and tub. We have a new deck in the back yard with a hot tub which is great to sit in at night and watch the stars on a cold winter night. During the day it is not unusual to have deer, foxes and the ocasional racoon as visitors. Many types of birds feed at our bird feeders which we keep well stocked all winter. The house is somewhat secluded from the neighbors but is located right in town. There are numerous steps to get to the house(19) but the climb is worth it. The altitude here is 8000 ft. and that may be an issue for some.
Our house is on about a third of an acre so neighbors are not very close. The Town is a small town, pop. 800, which has many log cabins, unique victorian homes that date back to the late 1800's. Its interesting just to walk and see all the different homes in the area. There is a small lake and Gazeebo located in the center of town that people fish in and play "broom hockey" on in the winter. We are located within 2 hrs. of major ski areas such as Breckenridge, Monarch and Cripple Creek which is an historical mining town where gambling is their major attraction now. Activities in the area are horseback riding, cross country skiing, snow mobiling, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, riding ATVs, or just enjoying the clear mountain air and the quiet surroundings. We are located just a few miles from Pikes Peak which you can drive up to in the summer or hike if you"re so inclined. If your enjoy some city life with a variety of restaurants and different activities we are 35 min. from Colorado Springs which has a pop. of 500,000 and 1 hr.from the state capital Denver, CO.
My husband and I are both in the medical profession, I'm a nurse and he is a paramedic. We both ride horses, hike and are generally very active, its hard not to be when you live in such a beautiful area. Andy also has a fire mitigation business which he stays very busy at helping to manage our forests to keep them healthy.
