E Komo Mai....my place is located on the North Shore of Maui in rural Haiku. It is a beautiful, private home on 2 acres with Chinese antiques and Polynesian artwork. There are ocean views. No smokers please, I would prefer a single or couple to stay.
Haiku is considered Upcountry Maui, 20 minutes from Kahalui airport & a couple minutes from the highway that takes you to town (Paia) or towards Hana. It is recommended you have a car although it is lovely to cycle as well. There is a nearby bicycle shop to rent road bikes and a local Maui bus picks up passengers @ Haiku Town Centre. Upcountry Maui is a paradise of jungle greenery, meandering country roads, quaint little grocery stores, grazing cattle and sheep and of course paniolos (cowboys). Peahi (Jaws) is 5 minutes away-- one of the most famous big waves in the world. The international windsurfing beach Hookipa is also 5 minutes away. The photo of beach I've posted is Baldwin Beach near to Paia town which is wonderful for morning walks or runs.
I am a mid 40's woman--avid sportswoman & cook- looking for charming accommodations in an authentic location to swap for my home. Long term stays are possible.
There might be a friend joining me but nothing is determined at the moment. I have 2 cats and a dog that I would like to leave on property, I will reciprocate by caring for your animals.
